Often when I talk with God, I ask Him: “Lord, what are You showing me? What is the purpose behind these things You’re placing before my eyes?”
This journey of seeing and asking began back in 2020. I would step outside into nature to break away from making the chews in the lab — sometimes sitting in stillness, other times riding my bike — and there, in those quiet moments, God began to speak in ways I could never ignore.
The first sign was a pink dragonfly. I thought it was unusual, but then I began seeing pairs of dragonflies — yellow, pink, blue, orange, and even iridescent like rainbow colors shimmering in the light. Each encounter left me in awe, wondering, What is God trying to show me?
Lately, it has been orange dragonflies. They’ve been appearing often, almost in excess, as though God wanted to make sure I noticed. And then, just a few days ago, as I was out walking with my grandchildren, a red dragonfly swooped right in front of me. Again, I whispered that same prayer:
“Lord, what are You trying to show me? I’m paying attention, but what does all of this mean?”
As if that wasn’t enough, while driving out of town last week, I felt prompted to look up. There in the sky was a rainbow — but not in its usual arching form. This one appeared hidden within a cloud, with rainbow colors glowing like fire. Later, I discovered it has a name: a fire rainbow, or fire cloud.
All of this stirred my spirit with wonder. Why would God show me these things? What was He trying to teach me?
Here’s what I’ve come to understand:
Dragonflies often symbolize transformation. To me, they represent renewal and the transition from one season of life into another. Orange reminds me of courage and creativity, while red reflects passion, life, and the fire of faith.
The fire rainbow became a reminder of covenant and promise. Just as God placed the rainbow in the sky after the flood as a sign of His faithfulness, this fiery rainbow-cloud reminded me that His promises remain alive and unshakable — extraordinary in ways we don’t always expect.
Creation speaks when we slow down enough to listen.
Psalm 19:1 says:
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.”
These moments reminded me that God is present in both the quiet and the wonder around us.
For me, this season feels deeply connected to growth, transition, and stewarding Ja’ja Chews with courage, creativity, and faith. It has encouraged me to remain attentive, prayerful, and open to the ways God leads through everyday moments.
And maybe, if you’re reading this, it’s a reminder for you too:
Pay attention. Look up. Listen.
Sometimes God speaks in the stillness.
As I stepped back inside the house later that day, I found myself reflecting on the Orange Chews and the season surrounding them.
1 Corinthians 2:9 came to mind:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard…”
And in that moment, I smiled, quietly wondering if this was part of why the orange dragonflies had captured my attention so deeply.
