Five Years of Ja’ja Chews: A Journey of Faith, Purpose & Obedience

On July 13th, 2020, I said yes to something I didn’t fully understand — and that simple act of obedience changed my life.

Today marks five years since I began making Ja’ja Chews, and I want to share the story behind every package, every chew, and every step of this journey.

It All Started With Surrender

Ja’ja Chews wasn’t born from a business plan. It came during a deeply challenging season in my life — a season that pushed me toward prayer, reflection, and complete dependence on God.

During that time, I felt led toward four simple ingredients: ginger, garlic, lemon, and raw honey.

What began as a quiet moment of inspiration eventually became an act of obedience.

The Struggle of Stewarding the Vision

At first, I wrestled with the idea of turning something so personal into a business. But through prayer, I was reminded that stewardship requires responsibility, faith, and action.

The story of the widow in 2 Kings 4:1–7 deeply encouraged me. She was instructed to pour what she had and trust God with the process.

In many ways, that’s how this journey has felt for me.

What started as a small step of faith slowly became something much bigger than I ever imagined.

Provision Every Step of the Way

For five years, I’ve watched doors open, resources appear, and needs get met in ways I can only describe as God’s faithfulness.

Every canister, every bag, every label, and every customer has been part of this unfolding story.

Ja’ja Chews reminds me daily that purpose often grows through consistency, trust, and obedience.

Unapologetically Faith-Led

There have been moments where I’ve felt different in the world of business because faith is deeply woven into the way I lead and create.

But I’ve learned not to be ashamed of the journey God has allowed me to walk.

I remember where I was before July 13th, 2020 — and I’m grateful for every lesson that has come since.

A Word to Other Dreamers

If you’ve been given a vision, don’t bury it just because it doesn’t make sense to everyone else.

Some journeys begin with clarity. Others begin with trust.

Keep building. Keep creating. Keep showing up for what’s been placed in your hands.

More Than a Product

To me, Ja’ja Chews represents faith, creativity, craftsmanship, and purpose.

It’s a reminder that even the smallest beginnings can grow into something meaningful when nurtured with care and consistency.

Here’s to five years — and many more ahead.

With love and gratitude,

Patricia
