Five Years of Faith: How Obedience and a God-Given Recipe Became Ja’ja Chews

On July 13th, 2020, I said yes to something I didn’t fully understand — and that simple act of obedience changed my life. Today marks five years since I began making Ja’ja Chews, and I want to share the story behind every package, every chew, and every step of this Kingdom journey.

It All Started in A Cry Of Frustration

Ja’ja Chews wasn’t born out of a business plan. It came during a season of deep illness and spiritual surrender. I was battling Lupus, Gastroparesis, heart disease, and more. I cried out to God — and in the quiet of prayer, He gave me a recipe: ginger, garlic, lemon, and raw honey. A divine blend. A healing answer.

What began as a whisper became a work of obedience.

The Struggle of Selling a Gift

I wrestled with the idea of selling something God had freely given me. But in prayer, the Lord reminded me: obedience requires resources. Just like the widow in 2 Kings 4:1–7, who was told to pour out her last bit of oil and sell it to pay her debts, God showed me that the miracle is in the motion. The gift may be from Him — but the act of stewardship is mine.

He didn’t just give me a recipe. He gave me an assignment.

Provision Has Never Been Lacking

For five years, I’ve had what I needed — sometimes at the last moment, always right on time. Every canister, every bag, every label, every sale has been proof of God’s faithfulness. He has truly supplied all my needs, just like He said He would.

Ja’ja Chews isn’t mine to own — it’s His to guide. I am simply the vessel.

Unapologetically Faith-Led

There are times I’ve felt out of place in the world of business because I don’t lead with strategy — I lead with Spirit. But I’m not ashamed of the Gospel or the One who gave me this vision. I remember my life before July 13th, 2020 — and I never want to go back.

This is a Kingdom business. It’s fueled by faith, not just ingredients.

A Word to Other Dreamers

If you’ve been given a vision — don’t bury it. Don’t second-guess it just because it doesn’t make sense on paper. If God gave it to you, He’ll sustain it through you. You don’t have to chase worldly models to honor a heavenly calling.

Sell the oil. Build the ark. Use the sling. Whatever He put in your hand is enough.

What You Hold in Your Hands

Ja’ja Chews is more than a product. It’s a story of surrender, a symbol of healing, and a testimony of faith in motion. When you chew, you’re tasting what obedience can produce — not just in me, but in anyone who dares to say yes to God.

Here’s to five years. And here’s to many more — led by faith, powered by grace, and covered by the One who never fails.
